Everyone can always tell my boys are doing the school run from miles away. Not because of their shouting and laughing at high volume (although they do that as well) usually it’s the jangling of all the key-rings on their school bag which gives it away. It’s got to the point now where I have a policy of one on/one off as the cacophony of jingles can send me batty when it’s one of those days.
Thankfully their latest gang of backpack buddies make no noise whatsoever, and are also much easier to attach than the myriad of keyrings. The boys can even do it themselves.
The name for them is Floppets, and these new friends are all set to become a new playground craze. Attaching to almost everything thanks to the easy fastening velcro loop. Children will be able to customise backpacks, pencils, shoes, glasses, or even wear them as rings around fingers and toes.
Collect and choose your Floppets from the different Floppet groups, Petlets, Munchkin Monsters and Flop Seas.
Floppets are a great pocket-money buy at £1.99 each and are available from Toys ‘R’ Us, The Entertainer and W H Smith.
Start Rite Shoes are also including a special Floppets Foil Pack in every new pair of back to school shoes purchased. This offer is available from Harrods, Brantano and other independent stores.

Wear as a ring
labelled all school uniform last night with the help of a stamptastic stamp. brilliant! @MummyFever
my daughter starts school this year and is very excited – it’s contagious and I can’t wait for her to start learning
My friend has twin girls, luckily they are best friends. They are so supportive of each other, it wonderful to see them interacting together. A lot of work getting organised for returning to school. Exciting too. They are at the stage they know what they like and want, chat about it together. Then go shopping with mum, aiming to get uniform and all that is needed for school return. It is a girls day out for them, though they do come back exhausted. Luckily Gran will have their evening meal prepared for their return.I like to think the girls will always be close and enjoy shopping trips together when they are older.
The first day back to school always starts with a shout of ” MUM where’s my (insert something essential they haven’t seen for six weeks and didn’t think to find yesterday)”
I love dropping my kids off at school on the first day of term – new uniform, now school shoes and bag – they all look so smart and clean and I feel proud! Then……6 1/2 hours later what do I see – my four kids racing out of the school gates with scuffed shoes, pain on their sleeves, grass stains on knees – but big smiles lol! Oh well, at least they enjoyed their first day back (as much as me lol)
My children are all grown up but I remember the relief when they went back to school. Summer holidays are long and it was difficult to keep them amused all summer especially in a miserable summer.
Much as I love my kids it was a relief when school started and I had some time back to myself and the house back in order.
labelled all school uniform last night
Well this is a very exciting time for me as my eldest son will be starting school in September. We tried his uniform on him the other day and I had tears in my eyes so heaven knows what I’ll be like on the day!
I used to hate going back to school after the summer holidays as even though I knew I’d be with all my friends it also meant chilly frost cold school mornings but now I think I’d love to go back!
Back to School with all the new clothes on! Feeling all starchy but important too and almost creeking with anticipation.
The kids oversleeping their alarms!
Huge queues in the barbers yesterday – must be back to school time!
My eldest starts in reception next week and tried on her uniform yesterday – she suddenly looks so grown up and I have no idea how she can be starting school already! Sob!
My top tip is to label everything ! My kids have lost so much stuff at schoolbefore I started labelling !
I hate getting back into school, getting organised etc! Such a drag after the relaxation of the summer holidays
My daughter actually can’t wait to go back to school!
make sure the kids have a early night before going back to school
I think the children are really looking forward to going back to school, although we have had a wonderful summer
We love suddenly realising that they’ve grown out of their shoes or trousers in the space of a month.
That is my last grandchild (fingers crossed) off to school and I managed to see all 6 on their first day 1 every year for past 6 years lol 😀
Label everything that can be took off!
school dinners beetroot was awful
I always have this little dream that the 1st day back at school will run smoothly,To my children getting up and getting dressed all nice and quietly,But instead its like any other school morning a bloody big rush and a free for all to argue and bicker :{
my daughter is going to be in year 2! how time flys! my tip would be dont push them let them learn in their own way
Having the house to myself!
been labelling all clothes and bags ready for school
Mine go back this week- haven’t even got their school sweaters yet…*stress*
Just took my niece out shopping with us and she wanted a new pencil case for school. Took ages to find the perfect one and then we had to find the perfect things to go in it. I’ve 3 boys and never had an issue with pencil cases apart from the fact they had to have the name of their football team on.
I love when the children bring their art work home from school
My eldest is starting high school this year and my youngest isnt even in school yet! ahhhh! x
both my kids aged 6 and 5 are looking forward to going back to school, i remember when it was the 6weeks holidays when i was at school and it never seemed long enough! im glad times have changed and children enjoy going to school to learn now x

Love the kids going back to school. BUT why do they always have a massive growth spurt in the summer. Another 3 sets of uniform to buy!!!
Have finally finished labelling all the school clothes and all ready to wear
I remember loving the first day back at school after summer because everything I wore was brand new!
Loved the hols, uniforms sorted, ready for the new terms hectic schedule.
I remember having to sit and sew on all my own name labels before school started. Awful!
The summer holidays have gone too quickly!!
I hate t when my son goes back to school, it makes me sad that another fun summer is over, plus my youngest is starting nursery, so that’s it all my babies growing up!
I used to hate going back to school, it meant summer was over!
Boys going back – shoe cleaning – bag packing – looking for lunchboxes – early nights – what fun!!
My son finishes school next year and my daughter starts (scarey)
I just remember so many uniforms – I went to 7 schools
All uniform labelling finally finished today, hooray!
overheard at the supermarket “for f***** sake try not to bite anyone at school tomorrow. Especially not the teacher.” Thought they might have been joking but from the look of the frazzled mum of the (approx 7-8 year old) child she was deadly serious. So next time your kids start playing up remind yourself that they could be worse, at least they’re not gnawing their teacher!
This time of year always makes me think it’s not long till Xmas!
We have a month of part time before my daughter goes full time, I know kids need to be broken in gently, but a month of still having to sort child care gets to be a pain! Still, gonna miss her.
These school holidays have gone so quick !! Now the countdown to Christmas starts :/ x
Have summer holidays finished already
make sure you do a uniform and kit with them the night before so they turn up smart and ready
six weeks off school is toooooo long. should be broken up
My little boy starts school in a week and he is so excited – yet I am so nervous…..
I used to love going back to school with a new pencil case and bag! These days there are so many cool new things for kids, like this prize!
MY SON’S FIRST YEAR WEARING A SHIRT & TIE, THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE GREY SHIRTS INSTEAD BOF WHITE THOUGH, WILL NEVER KEEP IT CLEAN!
Make packed lunches the night before, saves time in the morning
My DS started school today, was good as gold when I left him
To make life easier I get the kids uniforms ready the night before and leave them out – saves time in the mornings!!
we have a few dry runs of the trip to school, from getting up, to breakfast then the walk………………….. but will it work out on the day!!!!!!! NO
My daughter is a teacher and going back to school means leaving her baby for the first time which she is dreading
try not to make a too big a thing about a LO starting school as it may be dunting to them even if like me you are loosing your baby
New school bag and pencil case
Black shoes with a fancy lace
Meg & Mog, Topsy & Tim
Hiding behind my desk getting changed for gym
Mrs Blake with her crazy hair
Answering a question with my hand in the air
British Bulldog every playtime
My name on a peg so I knew it was mine
School dinners were a hit or a miss
Except for the puddings which I totally miss
We never knew the time would pass so fast
So enjoy being carefree whilst it lasts
Get uniforms & lunch boxes ready the night before.
School uniform is just hurrenously expensive- Even the ‘cheaper’ supermarket uniform items soon mount up- I spent a fortune on just one entire unform this year, god help me when both of my mini mes are at school!
My best tip for a successful first day back at school is to make sure everything is organised so there is time for a good breakfast before the day starts.
Missing my kids already -cant wait for next school hols!
i used to hate the toilets in my junior school!!!!
My daughter can’t wait to go back to school , she has her bag packed for a week now

My eldest boy started secondary school last week! He is growing up too fast.
My younger two are both still preschool age so I still have them at home a lot.
my 7 year old son went back to school today along with all the other kiddies on the square and our 3 year old is missing them loads! unfortunately he has to wait til next monday to go back to pre-school and even then it’s just for 3 hours a day. poor sod gets so bored
I’ll always remember my first day at school,I walked in and burst into tears, cos the teacher sat me at a table with stickle bricks on and I sat there and cried, the teacher thought it was because I was missing home, but I remember saying no it’s not that,it’s cos I don’t like Stickle bricks!!haha
School uniforms to iron
my childs school has gone from primary to academy this year meaning all uniform had to be changed to a new badge which is the ugliest thing I have ever seen
My eldest started big school today,he was fine really excited!. I was a emotional wreck
that wonderful feeling when you know they’re going back
I remember my first day at school – my sisters took me to my classroom, and I traced a picture of a fairy sitting on a toadstool.
my son was dreading going back to school today but he came home with a big smile on his face! i always do pack up the night before to save time
My old school toilets were haunted, i swear it..spooky!

First day in comprehensive for my grandson yesterday he looked so smart in his uniform but so small
pet hate about back to school is the endless jumpers that go missing even with name tags in they go walkies, i have 3 boys at same school and at 10 a jumper it leaves me so angry when they get took
I miss school!
Remembering to label everything up with their names on it. always coming back with someone elses
make sure you write the names in everything!! its amazing how much kids lose in school
I hated school so much that when it came to going back in September , me and my friend tried
to break our arms so we could extend our summer hols!
Thank goodness they are back to school my purse is empty !
with an hour long walk twice aday and 3 children in 3 diffrent schools i love the school holidays! on the plus side i allways drop a dress size by christmas lol
My pet pev is most definitely when the children have an inset teacher training day within a matter of weeks of being back at school !!!!
I love the floppets – Such a great idea to jazz up school uniforms.
I’m awaiting the return of my little boy – it’s his second day today and I am very nervous. Just hoping he still loves it!
These Floppets are a great idea – particularly for your child to be able to distinguish which shoes are theirs after PE.
By the end of the 6 weeks holidays my girls are ready to go back to school, me too, to be honest, but now theyve been back a couple of days, i would happily have them off for another week now
Daughters both went back to school this week – I must admit a hugh relief as they get so bored towards the end.
I loved the excitement of seeing all your friends again after the long holidays.
First day back for my daughter today unfortunately the school sent home a letter stating yesterday was the first day back and didnt bother to update the school website so about half the school turned up yesterday morning to be told they were still closed!
back to school means rushing around and trying to be in five places at once! aghghhh
Better make sure that i leave for work 15 minutes earlier, roads are alot busier during term time
Ha they been home and hour and they are all asleep exhausted.
School uniform last minute dash for shoes and black trousers and bags
Have the school uniforms all ready and layed out the night before, also make up the school lunches the night before and leave in the fridge! So much easier in the mornings less shotings and screaming!!
cheese me off that went into Tesco yesterday and they already taking all uniform off sale. When my lad started last year they staggered the start so was like 10 th before he started and you always afraid to get uniform too early as kids spurt in teh summer
How come no matter how determined I am to be prepared for them going back to school each year, we are still chasing round on the last day for uniform, bags, shoes, pencil cases…
i really hae aving to get used to a new teacher …. for both my sons and me ! …. putting the trust in one teacher then having to start all overagain the following year is horrid ! … as a mum who has no close by family so sons are always withme its hard to trut new people around my kiddos !
My sister is so excited to be going back to school – wish I had the long holidays instead of work!!
There is always one piece of uniform missing on the morning of the first day back!
Out of all the uniform, why are shoes soooo expensive? They’re trashed in weeks too!
I hated having to wear in a new uniform.
So much money spent. it’s scary!!!
Its a bit of a shock to the system getting back into the routine, none of us are very good at getting up early! These look great fun.
There is nothing better than putting on a fresh new uniform on at the beginning of the school year, I used to love it when I was a kid!
I remember when I moved up a form and we were allowed roller ball pens, and then when your handwriting was better you could progress to a fountain pen. Shopping for my matching set of pens was one of the most exciting things ever!
Would love these for my little brother
