I don’t know about you, but I just love this time of year.
The nights are drawing in, starting to feel a chill in the air, so dig out the hat, gloves and scarf. I’m probably a bigger kid than the boys hoping to wake up to a white snow filled garden every morning.
I especially love the big build up to the festive season. Once Halloween’s out the way, its non stop till Christmas town.
So for me when I was offered the chance to review a new book all about my favourite time of year, I just couldn’t say no.
When It Snows is the debut book from Author/Illustrator Richard Collingridge.
It’s the beautiful story of one small boys magical snowy adventure, because when it snows and everything stops he has to find another way to get around.
The story is short, but the gorgeous illustrations along the way mean that when I read the book to my children it created lots of talk between pages about what they would be doing if they saw what this little boy was. It really got my son’s imagination going, and my youngest who can’t read yet just loves looking through the pictures and talking about what he’s seeing.
If you hop on over to the When it Snows Website you can watch a trailer for the book which features some of the wonderful artwork, to give you a taster of how stunning the images are.
When It Snows by Richard Collingridge is now available from Amazon.
Thanks to Random House for sending me a review copy.
